It’s taboo in most African cultures to plan your own funeral while you are alive, but not for Jose Chameleone because he has already budgeted for his final sendoff rites.
Chameleone opened up about his plans for his funeral while speaking during an interview on local station NBS TV.
The veteran singer said his funeral will sell out as people from outside the country will fly in to attend.
Chameleone said he will be buried in a transparent casket so that the multitude of mourners can have full glance of his lifeless body.
The celebrated Ugandan singer also disclosed that he prefers that his body should be laid in a public place of honour before burial to allow the public ample time to pay their last respects.
“My casket should be glass so that everyone can see me as there will be so many people from different countries who will be here to attend my funeral when I’m gone. I would wish my body to be put in public for viewing,” Jose Chameleone said.
The Ugandan star also said many artistes’ songs should be played during his funeral.
“By the way, I was Mowzey Radio’s first fan because I spotted his talent and then showed him to you people. It is not right to remember someone when they are gone, you should celebrate them when they are still alive.”
Chameleone further asked funeral directors interested in managing his funeral to get in touch with him as he would want to spend money for his funeral while he is alive.
