Jeff Mwathi’s mom Ann Wacuka was accused of betraying her late son for money.
Some people have been claiming that Ann could have been paid by DJ Fatxo to let the case go since she was not at the forefront fighting for her son’s justice.
Mwathi’s mother came out to address the allegations while speaking during an interview with YouTuber Nicholas Kioko.
Hanna stated that she didn’t take any money from DJ Fatxo, stressing that she couldn’t accept even Ksh10 million in exchange for her son’s justice.
Mwathi’s mother further said she was not aware of who paid her like claimed by some people.
“Kuna watu walikua wamesema mumelipwa ndo muachane na hio story?” Nicholas Kioko asked Jeff Mwathi’s mother.
“Yeah kuna watu walikua wanasema ati vile tumenyamaza ati ni kulipwa tumelipwa. Ata hawakutaja mwenye ametulipa but walisema tumepewa pesa hatukujua mwenye alitupea pesa. Ata sahi hatujui mwenye alitupea pesa,” Ann responded.
Mwathi’s mother further explained that the family opted to keep quiet to allow the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to carry out their investigations.
“But sisi kunyamaza kwetu tulinyamaza ndo tupee serikali nyafasi wafanye kazi yao. Ju pia serikali hawatakusaidia huku unaongea huku wanafanya kazi. So sisi tukasema wacha tunyamaze kama familia tungojee DCI wafanye kazi yao mbaka watuite,” Ann explained.
