Janet Mbugua married Eddie Ndichu in 2015 but by 2021 their marriage was already crumbling.
Eddie and Janet parted ways and it was reported that infidelity was the major cause of their breakup.
The mother of two opened up about the journey to healing in a recent vlog.
In a candid discussion on her YouTube channel, she shared her thoughts on the paradox of feeling punished for trying to heal, a topic that resonates deeply with many.
“It’s been hard for me to come out as myself because I am a very private person, so I really am reflecting on my current milestones.”
“The other side of healing, a side seldom discussed but very real. It is the point in one’s journey where you begin to isolate yourself emotionally and mentally as a means of self-preservation.
“What I mean by that is that I have experienced situations where it’s almost like you’re isolating emotionally and mentally to self-preserve. You’re actually surviving. However, I made a note to let people in my life who I love know when I need a minute when I’m feeling overwhelmed with everything that I am dealing with,” Janet Mbugua narrated.
“The sad part is that when you come up for air from isolating, people will punish you for trying to survive. It’s strange when people know you’re dealing with something but they still gaslight you it,” she added.
A local publication reported that the former Citizen TV anchor sought a quiet divorce process in a bid not to attract media attention.
Janet and Eddie parted ways six years after they got married in a colorful wedding ceremony held at Chaka Ranch in Nyeri county.
Eddie and Janet were the perfect celebrity couple when they tied the knot on 30th May 2015 – a fairytale romance of a TV girl and a banker.
The wedding was an invite-only affair and their marriage likewise was off public eye for many years until the ugly side of their troubled union was exposed.
On October 8th 2021, Janet Mbugua – who is businesswoman and philanthropist – had a big event where she launched Inua Dada Centre to promote the girl child.
Her entire family including her parents, siblings and her own children attended the event – but her husband Eddie Ndichu was conspicuously missing.
Eddie’s absence raised eyebrows given that there were already tell-tale signs and rumors that all wasn’t well in their marriage.
Hawk-eye online sleuths had already noticed that Janet no longer wears her wedding ring and has also deleted the “wife” tag she had on her Instagram page.
The former Citizen TV anchor and her estranged husband also unfollowed each other on social media and deleted each other photos.
Eddie and Janet seemed to have been separated for some time as they haven’t been celebrating each other on special days like birthdays or Mothers Day unlike before.
Sources privy to Janet and Eddie’s separation intimated that infidelity was the reason that caused their marriage to hit rock bottom.
Eddie is said to have cheated on Janet for a while, the reason why she ultimately decided to leave him.
Eddie Ndichu’s infidelity was publicly exposed on October 17th 2021 after a scuffle at Emara Ole Sereni Hotel with the Murgor sisters – Stephanie and Cheryl Murgor who are in their early 20s.
Eddie and his twin brother Paul Ndichu were embroiled in an ugly altercation with the girls after they turned down their romantic advances.
A waitress at Ole Sereni hotel told blogger Edgar Obare that Ndichu brothers booked a two-bedroom suite at the facility and checked in while in company of four women.
However, recently Janet Mbugua indicated that she was peacefully co-parenting with Eddie as they re-united for their son’s birthday.
