Accomplished media personality Janet Mbugua has responded to claims of dating a much younger man.
Rumours of her being in a relationship with a younger man surfaced when she shared a video talking about maturity and age.
“You can meet a 45-year old boy and a 23-year old man because maturity isn’t tied to your birth year. The same goes for women. Age might bring you wrinkles but it doesn’t always being wisdom, “ she captioned the video she shared on November 22.
In a recent Instagram video, the mother of two made it clear that she is single and she has been celibate, admitting that Ben 10s have been flooding her Instagram since then.
Mbugua further said that the video didn’t necessarily reflect her personal experience.
“I am in a season of single, sober and celibate. My last video has nothing to do with my personal life. I just framed a narrative based on content that other people do. A lot of the time content creators talk about their individual lives but sometimes it’ just reflections on things that have nothing to do with us… I did a video based on a quote that says you can meet a 45 year old man and a 23 year old boy. And for some reason people thought it had something to do with me having a younger lover, maybe some day!” she said.
She added that she was not trying to boast by announcing her current status, adding that she had to pause a lot to make the decisions.
“The point is, you can be different things and they may not even make sense. I can talk about being singe, sober and celibate. It’s not a flex! There so much I had to pause to really fully hear myself before I made these big life decisions. That means I could unpause tomorrow, 3 months, in five years… am no trying to give myself a limit in regards to these decisions,” Mbugua said.
