Jane Wambui’s Daughter Spent Her Ksh 2 Million Savings As She Worked In Saudi Arabia, On Friends And Parties

Jane Wambui was shocked to find more than KSh 2 million of the money she had been sending home had been spent on enjoyments.

Jane Wambui spent nine years working in Saudi Arabia, and during that time, her daughter Hottensia spent almost KSh 2 million she sent her to save,on parties with friends and other luxuries.

When Jane got back home and realized she had no money, her ambitions of settling down and starting a business in Kiambu were destroyed.

The 42-year-old single mother rented her family a home in Kiambu town for the duration of the nine-year span, leaving her only daughter in charge of the younger brother.

Wambui’s daughter had a son while she was away, and the compassionate mother promised to pay for his private education, just like she had done for her own son.

Due to her advanced age and the nature of her employment, she began to feel as though she couldn’t continue working in Saudi Arabia. She had been sending money home to be saved in an account, so she knew she was coming to settle well, but when she arrived she was shocked there was no money.

“She kept telling me that the nearly KSh 2 million was quite safe in her account. She was quite concerned and disturbed when I returned in December, ” Wambui narrates the sad turn of events.

Her daughter spend most of the money treating her friends well and living a luxurious lifestyle.

She also entered into a agreement to borrow a car loan, put down a deposit of KSh 500,000, and agreed to make monthly payments of KSh 62,500.

“Three months down the line she only received KSh 10,000 from her friend driver who has been using the car as a cab. The driver told her business is slow,” she says in pain.

She claims that she followed her boyfriend’s advice to take the car and park it until the Mazda Demio was repossessed for failure to make payments as agreed. Wambui was instructed by the company to deposit KSh 380,000 for her to own the car back.

What a sad turn of events for the mother.
