Kiss FM presenter Jalang’o announced that he will quit his job on February 9th so that he can intensify his campaign for the Langata parliamentary seat.
Jalango’s move to quit his job is in line with Media Council rules that require a journalist vying for a political seat to resign six months to the election date.
The Kiss FM presenter officially joined Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on July 15,th 2021 and was received by the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
In a statement, ODM said the comedian had joined it as a life member. He will face off with other aspirants in ODM primaries in a bid to earn the party’s ticket to contest for the Langata seat.
What if Jalang’o fails to clinch the Lanagata seat in August 9th general election? Well, the comedian has a backup plan.
Speaking during an interview with Kiss FM, Jalang’o revealed that in case he loses the Langata parliamentary seat he will be back in the studio.
“In my life, I have never done anything that I have to lose. God forbid…if I lose, is that the end of the world? We pick up from where we left and move on. I have even been made to sign a very hard contract here…that if I lose, the next day I will be in the studio,” Jalang’o said.
And in the event that he wins Langata parliamentary seat, Jalang’o said he will juggle between legislative work and his gigs in showbiz.
“One thing I am not going to leave is entertainment. I love entertainment, I wish I could still come back and do my radio and go to Bunge. Being a leader should not change who you are. I still love hosting events, why should I stop? I am going to multitask,” Jalang’o said.
