Jalango’s wife Amina Chao doesn’t want alcohol to be sold at their new restaurant Wapek Delicacies because of her Muslim faith.
The comedian-cum-politician and his wife officially launched their new restaurant on Tuesday April 19th 2022.
Wapek Delicacies, which is located at Queensway House on Mama Ngina street in Nairobi CBD, specializes in traditional food and African cuisine, it also offers catering and deliveries.
Speaking to YouTuber Mungai Eve, Jalang’o said that his wife and her friends worked on the restaurant project Wapek (heavy) Delicacies.
“I did contribute but I have been mostly her cheerleader,” Jalang’o said.
The comedian-cum-politician however lamented that his wife is against alcohol sale at the restaurant because of her Muslim faith.
“I hope she will agree to let us sell alcohol because I enjoy my whisky. I built the place by ‘force’. I lied that the area was set aside for people who come here to enjoy coffee. Alcohol has money and I am a business person,” said Jalang’o.
