Jackton Odhiambo was arrested on Friday in relation to the brutal murder of his best friend Edwin Chiloba.
Jackton is said to have been living in the same house with the slain LGBTQ+ activist in Uasin Gishu county.
According to their neighbors, there was a commotion in their house on the last day that Chiloba was seen alive and one person screamed before things went quiet. The two had come from a club where they had gone to usher in the new year. The caretaker also revealed that Jackton was spotted with the metal box in which Chiloba’s decomposing body had been stuffed.
On December 29, Jackton alias Iam Lizer took to social media to share a video message as the year was coming to an end. He reflected how his year has been, noting that his life had improved greatly.
“I took the last five days of the year to just to just go through my thoughts, mental state and mirror myself throughout the year. It has been beautiful. I have met beautiful people, creative minds and I have done great myself too. I can speak that for myself, my page, fans, my clients,” Jackton said.
He further revealed that he had cut off many of his close friends because they were not bringing any positive impact in his life
“I cut off a lot of close friends because I realized some of the people we call friends are just draining our time, draining our energy and there’s no positive impact towards you. You’re the one impacting them, they’re not impacting you. And I realized I need to cut some people off and it’s worth it. It’s really worth it,” he said in the five-minute long video.
At the same time, he revealed that his greatest 2022 blessing was being a father. He went ahead to acknowledge his girlfriend as well as Chiloba’s presence in his life.
“Edwin Chiloba has been a great person in my life this year This year he has been there for me , he has been close to me and we’ve shared a lot together, we’ve partied and God, is there anything that this guy doesn’t know. Like he knows everything about me. Edwin, let’s get into 2023 with good growth mentally, financially and spiritually. Let’s look at that Guy up there,” he said.
Chiloba reponded to the message saying, “You are amazing love. I see you doing you always and keep doing it. All the best and happy new year 2023. Love you.”

Jackton’s message has however sparked lots of reactions on social media, with netizens accusing him of being Chiloba’s fake friend while others felt sorry for him and condoled with him for the loss. Some have even raised suspicions on whether it was Chiloba who actually responded to his post.
“Your jealous for chiloba can be read loudly, u never tagged him in any post even the one he is in. And the way the guy showed u love freely,” a netizen said.
“Im sorry for your loss. So sorry,” another said.
