Bien defended his wife when it was reported that she slept with Makena Njeri. However one incident made him consider divorcing her.
Bien’s wife Chiki ‘Kuruka’ Onwukwe was dragged into Njeri Makena and Michelle Ntalami breakup drama after it was reported that she was among girls Njeri cheated with.
Informants who leaked details of Chiki and Njeri’s alleged affair to blogger Edgar Obare said that Bien’s wife is bisexual and that her husband Bien was cool with that.
Informants told Obare that Chiki and her husband have a mutual understanding in their marriage that allows her to smash other women.
However, Bien categorically stated that his wife and him don’t have an open marriage.
“Open relationship gani, mimi nko open minded, siko in an open relationship nko open minded,” said Bien while speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha in November 2021.
He added that;
“Inaweza niuma by the way, naweza kufa nkiskia dem wangu ati msee alimkata… naweza die. Siko hapo ata mentally.”
Even though Bien and Chiki are so tight, one incident in 2020 nearly saw the celebrity couple part ways.
Speaking in a recent interview, Bien said that Chiki and him almost broke up at the height of Covid-19 pandemic.
“My wife and I have been married for two years now, we got married a week before the pandemic started. When you get married, nobody gives you the tools, people are happy for you. For a long time in my life, I only looked at my wife as a love interest romantically and then the pandemic happened.”
“Being in the house all day with my chick every day, amazing as she is, it was driving me nuts. The small things became the big things and 8 months in, I was like I want a divorce, this is too much,” said Bien.
The Sauti Sol lead singer revealed that he was forced to seek the services of a marriage counsellor to save his marriage.
“I started going for counselling and I was like men I don’t wanna be married. I didn’t realise that when we were dating, I was just travelling. I would come back for two weeks and I was all lovey dovey, then my house was empty for a whole year and I was like babe move into my house instead of paying rent,” said Bien.
The two managed to patch up things after the counselling and have since learnt how to deal with marital challenges.
