Controversial gospel singer Stephen Kasolo is upbeat even after losing in his bid to be MCA in Kitui county.
Kasolo contested for the Member Of the County Assembly (MCA) seat for Mulango ward but he was unsuccessful in his bid.
“Good afternoon my people? Allow me to please pass my Special appreciation to all Voters, Fans, Friends, supporters and who offered their financial support as well as spiritual support.
“We ran the race since day one up to the Last day and out of 13 candidates we emerged number 2 with a small margin to the number 1.
“May you all feel appreciated,however God is on our side and a bright future in politics is my take on triumph ?. May the Lord Bless you all,” Kasolo wrote on social media.
In another post, the gospel singer told his supporters that he is their MCA-elect and that they should not hesitate reaching out to him for help if need his assistance.
“Am proud of myself, nilishindana na watu wakubwa na matajiri lakini Mungu akanipa neema kubwa position 2 out of 13 candidates. Aume kasolo ni Nzamba na 2027 niokinduni.
“Wanaotusi waambieni maisha inasonga normal, na wathi nikuna nesa nitethetye andu ma Mulango. Walionichagua mimi ni MCA wenu mkiwa na Shida msisite kuniambia,” he wrote.
Kasolo gained some notoriety in the press in March 2022 when he was caught on camera threatening to strangle his 3-year-old daughter.
