Aaron Rimbui has opened up on how his relationship with Kenyan boys band Sauti Sol began.
According to the musician, he began first by being the band’s fan before eventually working with them.
“I was a fan before working with them. Then we ended up meeting and collaborating, I have been on their album,” Rimbui said in a YouTube interview.
Rimbui, who doubles up as pianist, keyboardist and producer, said that he first met Sauti Sol in 2008 and was so impressed by them.
“I met Sauti Sol at Eric Wainaina’s wedding, I was coming in for soundcheck. It was early 2008 and I didn’t know about them. I went upstairs and asked Eric ‘Who are these guys?’ Immediately, I realized the guys have something…I introduced myself,” he shared.
The 42-year old also said that the Bald men love better album was born on just a single visit to Bien’s home.
“Bensoul came up with an interesting hook line…Bien was going upstairs to get dressed, he started singing a line and we told him to come back and put that on voice note. We wrote one complete song that day,” Aaron said.
He further said that it was Bien’s idea to call the album Bald men love better.
