“I Was Cornered And Hit With 30 Metallic Chairs” Morara Kebaso Opens Up On Bomas Attack

Morara Kebaso has admitted that he is doing well despite suffering head and neck injuries from an attack at Bomas of Kenya on Friday, where he had joined a Public Participation forum on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

According to him, those who attacked him have been identified as goons who work for Makadara MP George Aladwa, Dagoreti North MP Beatrice Elachi and Ruaraka MP T.J Kajwang.

During an interview with Spice FM on Monday morning, Morara gave an account of events that led to his attack.

When he arrived at the premises, the security at different entrances did not allow him in, and finally when they did, only one of his body guards was allowed to accompany him.

“That is where my security was compromised. I don’t know whether it was intentional,” he said.

Signs of his attack started showing when he was seated, although there had been red flags but he did see them

“It seems I was unwelcomed when it came to the ODM organised event. Plans had been made much earlier that I will be attacked because by the time am being attacked or signs of being attacked are showing up, I was actually seated on my chair raising my hand to speak. It was the public that demanded that I speak but it was not the wish of the MC T.J Kajwang that I speak” Morara added.

Kebaso said that when he raised his hands, people pointed at him, demanding Kajwang’ to allow him air his views.

“T.j Kajwang refused and instead he said huyu kijana hataharibu mkutano. I stood up and said sijakujakuharibu mkutano nipe microphone nitoe maoni., Suddenly goons came from behind the dias. There was no situation they were coming to calm down, they came to cause chaos, they moved tables and started throwing chairs at me,” Morara said.

He says that he remained calm and sat down as the goons continued with their attack. When the situation got serious, he decided to seek for safety.

“I tried to escape, the door was closed, I was cornered, my bodyguard was injured. My bodyguard was injured.  I was hit with more than 30 metallic chairs,” he said

A brave police officer rescued him and he was then rushed to hospital.
