Wahu Kagwi has shared her poignant journey through two miscarriages, captivating her fans with her strength and perseverance.
Wahu candidly described the profound impact these losses had on her life, marking a period of intense emotional struggle.
“I experienced two miscarriages in the past couple of years after trying hard to conceive,” she revealed.
“The fear of enduring another loss was overwhelming, but I knew I had to find a way to carry on.”
In her quest to overcome the grief, Wahu turned to gratitude as a source of solace. She focused on the positives in her life, especially the joy her two daughters brought her.
“The idea of attempting another pregnancy and facing another loss was too much to bear,” she confessed.
“Though I still longed for a third child, I decided to stop trying and trusted that if it was meant to be, it would happen… one year passed… then two, then three… but nothing.”
Seeing other women with their third pregnancies often stirred feelings of loss in Wahu.
However, she chose to use these moments to foster personal growth.
In January 2022, she had a pivotal realization.
“I decided to replace the pain with gratitude,” she shared. “I started focusing on the present blessings in my life rather than lamenting over what could have been.”
The birth of her youngest daughter, Shiru, brought a mixture of joy and anxiety.
While thrilled to welcome her new baby, Wahu was also apprehensive about sharing the news publicly, fearing potential complications.
“I was anxious throughout my pregnancy with Shiru,” she admitted. “I couldn’t believe that God had blessed me like this… it felt unreal. Is this what they call imposter syndrome? That’s why I hesitated to announce it publicly… what if something went wrong?”
Looking back on her experience, Wahu underscores the importance of seeking support during times of loss. “In hindsight, I should have sought counseling,” she advised. “I strongly recommend anyone who has suffered child loss to see a counselor.”
Wahu Kagwi’s journey is a powerful narrative of resilience and the healing power of gratitude, offering inspiration to many facing similar trials.
