Bahati and Diana Marua got married in a low-key traditional ceremony held on October 20, 2017.
The singer met Diana in July 2016 when he was shooting a music video for his song ‘Mapenzi’.
Diana was the main video vixen in the song which they played a couple getting married. The song was released in August 2016.
It was after the shooting of the song that Bahati and Diana fell deeply in love with each other and quickly got married one year later in October 2017.
The celebrity couple will be celebrating their 6th marriage anniversary on October 20, 2023.
It is this coming anniversary that has made Bahati think about marrying his wife in a white wedding.
“It’s still unbelievable that this 20th October we are celebrating 7 years together. I feel like it’s time for that big wedding, should we pick 20th October as the date? I think it’s time to say yes I do,” Bahati recalled in a recent interview.
Bahati also reminisced about his meeting with Diana during the video shoot.
“I had written my first love song as a Gospel artist and the girl I wanted to appear on the video declined my offer. Later I remembered of a queen who had liked a picture of mine on Instagram, I had never met her, I reached out to her just like any other video vixen little did I know I was looking at my wife to be,” he said.
