Huddah Monroe met late Chris Kirubi in person for the first time at JKIA where he upgraded her air ticket to first class while flying Emirates airline.
In 2018, Huddah posted on her Insta stories that she always wanted to marry Kirubi.
“That’s why I always wanted to marry C.K. Such a great man. Someone we should all emulate as a businessman. He bought shares at the right places and got lucky. And what pained me the most is the Chris Kirubi issue. I am ashamed to be Kenyan. Nairobi is a sea full of sharks waiting for you to shake a little. So they can finish you. Kick you when you are down. Mshindwe na Mlegee,” wrote Huddah.
When Kirubi died on June 14th 2021, Huddah came out to narrate her first meeting with the late tycoon at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
“This man used to see me in Business Class, in almost all my travels. In NBO, there’s no first-class lounge so y’all sit there in Biz Class lounge waiting for the Emirates flight. When he asked what I do for a living, I didn’t have an answer. He proceeded to upgrade me to first class,” Huddah wrote on social media.
Huddah further revealed they would talk during their travels, and Kirubi inspired her to start her cosmetic business from those talks.
“We had a lengthy talk coz I like to ask and learn from people. And I am happy that he was part of what inspired me to start Huddah Cosmetics.”
Fast forward to February 2022, Huddah declared her undying love for the late tycoon stating that she will always love him.
“Watching JK Live with Chris Kirubi (RIP) on YouTube and it’s a great way to end the evening… Love you always,” Huddah captioned a clip on her Insta Story.
