How Tables Turned On Eric Omondi’s Former Manager And Gospel Singer Isindu

Cyril Isindu was one of the most promising gospel artists in Kenya about a decade ago. While serving as Eric Omondi’s manager, Isindu dropped a banger titled Ubabi, which captured the hearts of many.

Before Ubabi and becoming Eric’s manager, he served in the logistics department at the comedian’s entertainment company, Big Time.

He however parted ways with Eric Omondi and ventured into comedy and content creation but wasn’t lucky enough to sustain his name in the industry. Things fell apart on his side and he is currently selling scraps and waste for recycling to earn a living in Kibra, where he was raised.

“I do that every day of my life. It is now almost a year. Per day I can do like 80kgs of carton. I kg costs Sh10,” he told  Manuu Kenya in an interview.

Why he parted Ways with Eric

Isindu and Eric parted ways  around 2018/2019. Before the decision to part ways, the two, together with their team, were living at a common place in Kileleshwa, and through that, Isindu was able to meet big names like Sauti sol.

“Time came, it was now everybody should go back home and find their identities. If at all the universe will allow us to meet again, [you will have something to ]bring on the table,” he said adding that they didn’t part ways in bad blood.

The end of an era saw him return to Kibra.

“I was living here, the other place was like a school, where we go, meet and that is why after completing school, people go back to where they belong and do things that they learnt from others. My son is in school and I always tell him he is just there to learn the best and leave the bad. In 2019, when corona happened, everybody just had to go back home, to their homes, where they were raised to survive,” he said.

According to him, he did not separate with Eric in bad terms, revealing that the comedian-turned activist paid him a visit in the near past.

“We are okay, we still good friends though not much is happening. We might not meet but if am okay, they are okay wherever they are, am the energy” he said.

Isindu’s future plans

Isindu plans to proceed with his music career. He says that he will soon be dropping an album titled Katoto Kadhahabu. He already has 8 songs.

“Right now am working on my comeback, although I have never gone anywhere. I am rebranding as Isindu Gold.  I already returned to music. I am currently in studio. I am still writing songs. I have started building a team slowly, previously I was in someone’s team, right now am building a team as an individual,” he said.

Kenyans’ view

Following his current situation, Kenyans are calling upon Eric Omondi to come to his rescue, just like he has been helping people in need across the country,  even if they did not part ways in good terms.  After partying ways with Eric, Isindu allegedly appeared in several interviews where tarnished Eric’s reputation.
