‘His Brain Came Out After The Accident’: 5 Shocking Things MP Elachi Revealed About Her Son’s Tragic Death

Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi, in a deeply emotional address during her son Elvis Murakana’s requiem mass, provided a starkly detailed account of the tragic accident that claimed his life.

Speaking at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nairobi on Friday, March 28, 2025, Elachi’s words served as both a mother’s lament and a stark warning to parents and young adults.

Here are five key revelations from her speech:

1. A generation that handles challenges independently

Elachi began by reflecting on the challenges faced by today’s youth, highlighting their tendency to handle problems on their own, often without informing their parents.

“I want to talk to parents about our children today,” she said, her voice heavy with grief.

“So we have a generation that believes that it can sort out their own problems. They will only tell you if indeed they were unable to do it and there is a crisis, but they will bail each other out, and you will not believe.”

2. A last-minute errand led to the accident

The MP recounted the circumstances leading to her son’s fatal accident, explaining that Elvis had been in bed when he was called for an errand.

“So in the same breath, that is what Elvis did; he was in bed at 10:30 pm. He was called on an errand of theirs, rushed, and did it well. So when he was coming back, he got a tyre burst with the car.”

3. The dangers of emergency braking

Elachi took the opportunity to caution young drivers about handling tyre bursts, emphasizing that emergency braking can cause a car to skid uncontrollably.

“They are young people, they don’t know that when you are driving any car and it gets a tyre burst; ‘DO NOT BREAK THE EMERGENCY BRAKES.’ The car will skid, and that’s where you will really find yourselves in crisis. What you just do, you hold on to that steering wheel, try to ensure that car goes, and pray that it comes to a stop.”

4. The devastating injuries Elvis suffered

The Dagoretti North lawmaker revealed that her son suffered a severe head injury that caused his brain to dislodge, ultimately leading to his death.

“So in that, his brain now just moved and came out from its lobes and that’s what succumbed him,” she said, offering a heartbreaking account of the severity of his injuries.

5. A promising life cut short

Elvis Murakana had left home for errands in Kasarani on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, when the fatal tyre burst occurred along Thika Road, causing his car to collide with guardrails.

He spent a week in the Intensive Care Unit at AAR Hospital before succumbing to his injuries.

At the time of his death, Elvis was a Business Studies student at Africa Nazarene University, eagerly anticipating his graduation in June 2025.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the family home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County.
