James Makori returned to Kenya from US only to end up mad and roaming in his birthday suit in the streets.
The world is full of difficulties and trouble, but James Makori had his fair share.
Makori was born and raised Kiamokama village in Kisii county, but in 1972 he relocated to Alabama, a state in the southeastern region of the United States, together with his beloved wife.
James worked in Alabama for years, and it became difficult to travel back to Kenya.
Every time they would plan a trip back, something always came in the way, and they had to postpone. Until one day, he received bad news about his father’s passing, and they had to book the next flight home.
On getting back home, things were not all rosy. To start with, James’ siblings were not happy to see the ‘prodigal son’ return only after their father had died despite him having a well-paying job in the states and didn’t help them as much.
Just like the prodigal son, James was remorseful and decided to do better. Since he had four months’ leave, he sought the help of his friends to start a real estate project in Kisii and Nairobi that would benefit both his mum and the younger siblings.
A month into the project, things started going south. James’ wife got sick and became mentally unstable to roaming naked when left unsupervised.
As if that was not enough misfortunes in one month, James was involved in an accident on his way back to Kisii from Kisumu, where he had gone to seek help from a renowned pastor.
James couldn’t manage to go back to Alabama with the ongoing difficult situations.
One year down the line, they had not enough money to cater for their basic needs, leave alone money to cater for the projects he had started.
The wife was in a mental institution, their kids needed school fees, and the projects have been halted.
James sought refuge in alcohol and started selling their belongings with nowhere to run to.
Amidst all the trouble, James would always hear close relatives and friends talk about his uncle being the cause of his misfortunes but didn’t give it much thought. They would even advise him to seek help.
Things didn’t change for James until his mother-in-law and mum insisted, he accompanies them to Kisumu one day.
James didn’t bother to ask where they were heading to. On arrival, they were ushered in, and the man introduced himself as the renowned Dr Kishimba Shimba.
“We had a lengthy chat, where he asked about the three owls, I saw in my compound every evening.”
“Later on in the evening, Dr Kishimba accompanied us home, where he could cleanse the compound of evil spirits.”
Just a few days after the cleansing ceremony, James’ wife started getting better, and within no time, she was back home.
The uncle even came back to seek forgiveness and vowed never to go back to his evil deeds. All I can say now the rest of James and the family are now doing well, and their businesses are thriving.
