Retired President Uhuru’s nephew Jomo Gecaga has fathered at least five children with journalists.
Despite being retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nephew, Jomo also served as his personal assistant.
Gacaga used his influence in government and family name to devour a couple of TV and radio presenters.
Gacaga’s most famous relationship with a journalist was when he was dating former Citizen TV’s news anchor Anne Kiguta.
Anne and Jomo made their relationship public in November 2015 when they attended the Nairobi premiere of 007 James Bond movie ‘Spectre’.
A year later on July 1, 2016, Anne Kiguta gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, sired by Jomo.
However, their relationship hit rock bottom two years later in 2018 after Jomo started having an affair with fashionista and former KTN presenter girl Lola Hannigan.
Jomo and Lola Hannigan first stirred up dating rumours as they attended Nana Gecaga’s birthday together.
Lola in March 2018 attended the invite-only 40th birthday party of Nana Gecaga (Jomo’s younger sister) at the Billionaire Resort in Malindi, Anne was not on the guest list.
Jomo and Nana also made headlines as they attended American rapper Rick Ross’ concert at Carnivore grounds, Nairobi on April 28, 2018.
From there they seemed to go public with their relationship as they attended other public events together.
In April 2020, Lola Hannigan gave birth to a bouncing baby girl fathered by Jomo Gacega.
But even before Anne and Lola, Jomo Gacaga dated Valentine Njoroge, a radio presenter and newspaper sex columnist.
Valentine told The Nairobian in a 2016 interview that, “It is true I am pregnant. My baby daddy and I are really looking forward to parenthood. I cannot reveal his identity and please do not speculate.”
In Kikuyu traditions, first born sons are named after the baby daddy’s father. Valentine’s son was named Udi. Jomo’s father is Udi Gecaga. Jomo, though he parted ways with Valentine, is said to have secured a pad for her in Nairobi’s Runda estate.
Jomo Gacaga also fathered a daughter a daughter with TV and radio presenter Pierra Makena.
For six years Pierra Makena remained tight-lipped about the father of her daughter Ricca Pokot.
Pierra gave birth to Ricca Pokot on 20th July 2016 and opted to remain silent about her baby daddy.
The mother of one has been very cagey about the subject of who her daughter’s father is.
Steve Mbogo, DJ Mo and Jomo Gecaga have all been rumoured to be Ricca’s father at one point.
However, a source in February 2023 confided to blogger Edgar Obare that Ricca’s father is Gecaga.
According to the source, Gecaga and Pierra fell out before Ricca was born and that they are not on good talking terms.
It is reported that Gecaga has even been frustrating Pierra with reports that he was behind the cancellation of his baby mama’s Park ‘n’ Chill even in Meru.
Pierra took to Instagram to express her frustration following the cancellation of Park ‘n’ Chill event in Meru on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
Through a lengthy post, Makena narrated how police in Meru County shutdown the event even after revellers had arrived, only to let the event continue after she had left.
According to the DJ, the shutdown happened despite the fact that she had acquired all required documentation and approvals from the county government, only to be told later by the police that there are covid-19 fears.
“Authorities were sent to close my event. The only explanation they had was kuna covid. I asked if they know that I curated my event to fit the new normal and they said they have been told not to allow me thats it..mkubwa amesema,” the mother of one opined.
DJ Pierra said she left the venue with her team and the police followed soon after however, she started receiving pictures of the event going on.
Amidst the confusion, she switched cars and returned to the venue where she was shocked to find out the event was going on uninterrupted.
“I changed my car and drove their…we parked and chilled..no one knew I was there. But sherehe ikaendelea. Guys in their cars only now my investment was going to the dogs,” she explained.
According to Obare, Pierra’s baby daddy is the person who is frustrating her. This is happening due to a fall-out they reportedly had.
