Eric Omondi raises Ksh755,0000 in hours to aid student shot 9 times by police in Kisumu

Eric Omondi visited 19-year-old Fidel Castro Ochieng at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu where he is recuperating after being shot by police.

Castro, who is a form four student at Olembo Boys Secondary School, was shot on July 21, 2023, during anti-government protests in Kisumu.

The teenager had nine bullets lodged in his body. Medics at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital revealed shocking X-ray scans of the victim which showed nine bullets lodged in his chest and arms.

Eric Omondi visited Castro in hospital to offer him financial aid.

“Visited Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital Kisumu today. This is the Hospital where I was born on 9th of March 1982. I saw and spoke to 18 Victims who were shot last week but one young Man Stood out. His name is Fidel Castro, he is a 17 year Old Form 4 Student from Bishop Abiero Secondary School. He was shot 8 times and Survived. He almost died but God gave him another chance. We are going to Rally together and Raise Money for him and Change HIS LIFE COMPLETELY. He will finish his Secondary Education. We will build his Mother a house. We will bring him to Nairobi to work. WE WILL CHANGE HIS LIFE!!!” Eric Omondi wrote.

Giving an update hours later after he launched financial appeal, Eric Omondi revealed that he had managed to raise Ksh755,000. He implored Kenyans to continue contributing to raise at least Ksh2 million.
