Eric Omondi was touched by the plight of a widow in Mathare slums and raised Ksh625,000 for her in hours.
The widow Florence Odhiambo trended on social media after Priscilla Waimani highlighted her plight.
Florence’s landlord removed the roof of her rented shack due to rent arrears.
The widow was staying in the roofless house with her children amid the rains that have been pounding the city.
Eric Omondi through his philanthropic Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative fundraised for the widow to change her situation.
A total of Ksh625,000 was raised and Eric moved the widow to another house where he paid her rent for one year.
The comedian also paid two year school fees for the widow and deposited Ksh300,000 to her account which he said she could only access when she has a concrete business plan.
