Eric Omondi Implores Wangari Maathai To Resurrect And Talk To Ruto

Eric Omondi has cried for late environmental activist Professor Wangari Maathai to rise again to convince president William Ruto to cancel his order to legalize the cutting of trees in the country.

In the video he published on his Instagram account, Eric was seen reciting a poem while saddened and crying for what seemed to be talking to the soul of the late Nobel laureate that her absence was the reason trees in the country were sentenced to death.

“Today is a very sad day in the country, we remember the daughter of the nation late Wangari Maathai. In her absence, her three Rain gods have been sentenced to death in front of the public. Mom wake up mom,” Eric Omondi sadly recited.

On Sunday, Ruto lifted a nearly six-year ban on logging despite concerns raised by environmental activists. Ruto said the move was “long overdue” and aimed at creating jobs and opening up sectors of the economy that depend on forest products.

“We cannot have mature trees rotting in the forests while the locals suffer from the lack of wood. That is foolishness,” he said at a church service in Molo.

“That is why we have decided to open the forest and harvest wood so that we can create jobs for our youth and open businesses.”

Eric has continued his complaints to the Kenyan government first because he felt that this government was failing Kenyans after the MPs passed the controversial Finance Bill 2023 which Ruto signed into law.
