Eric Omondi Flies Viral ‘Ameuza Airport’ Boy To JKIA, Enrolls Him In College

In an inspiring turn of fate, the young man who rose to fame during the viral Occupy JKIA protests has taken to the skies—literally!

Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has officially transformed the life of the passionate protester, who famously yelled, “Anauza hadi airport ya Kenya!” during the demonstrations.

The protests erupted in July 2024 as Kenyans expressed their outrage over plans to lease the iconic Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Indian firm Adani.

Amid the uproar, concerns arose that the proposed lease was merely a front for the outright sale of the national asset, a claim the government vigorously denied.

However, as tensions simmered, this determined young voice captured the spirit of discontent resonating across the nation, earning thousands of shares and becoming a rallying cry for many.

Fast forward to November 21, 2024, when President Ruto announced the cancellation of the controversial deal, with many claiming the young protester was way ahead of this time.

His catchphrase ‘ameuza airport’ quickly became a memorable symbol of national pride and vigilance.

On Monday, Eric Omondi, known for his comedic flair and social advocacy, took to social media with a heartwarming update that melted many online.

In a touching video, Omondi shared the moment the young man boarded a plane from Kisumu to JKIA—his very first flight!

In a generous gesture, Omondi not only covered the cost of the ticket but also paved the way for a future career by enrolling the young man in a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution.

“Our Brother today boarded a plane and landed at JKIA for the very first time ever. We celebrate and appreciate him! He wants to be a mechanic… let’s appreciate him. He deserves it,” Eric Omondi said.
