The ‘annoying’ reality in Kenya is that less educated people are more successful than educated ones.
There is a notion that the most successful people in life are graduates, and this belief is partly to blame for cases of cheating in exams.
However, the reality is that uneducated or less educated people in Kenya are more successful than educated ones.
A recent survey showed that more uneducated men in Kenya own a house than those that have attended middle-level colleges and universities.
The Demographic and Health Survey 2022 released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) on January 17, 2023, showed that 46.7 per cent of men who own a house have no formal education, compared to 32.2 per cent that have gone beyond secondary school.
Khadija Moraa, though being a woman, is among the less educated Kenyans who beat the odds to end up as a millionaire.
Below is her story:
My name is Moraa, back in 2016 I was married to a man named Joseph Langat who used to mistreat me simply because I was not well educated to the highest level.
I dropped out of school in form two after I got pregnant and was forced into early marriage. My parents were so disappointed in me that they never wanted anything to do with me anymore.
I had no certificate to my name so getting a job was another job. I was entirely dependent on my husband to make ends meet.
Though we were newlyweds, Langat didn’t show any respect or love towards me. I can recall first month of our marriage, he would make long trips in the name of going to seminars. I only came to realize he was seeing different ladies and taking them to big hotels.
All this time while he was living large with the ladies, he would leave me at home with nothing to eat.
Things got worse to a point he started bringing the ladies home and I wasn’t supposed to question where he was every time he was away.
In our own home I was like a house girl. I was forced to do their laundry, cook for them and make sure the house is well kept while they enjoyed themselves.
After a while, I could not put up with everything anymore. I got inspired after seeing how a street girl worked her way up to become a prominent business woman. I also decided to come out of this frustration and look for a way out on how to survive with my only child.
I used to read some of the magazines he would bring home since that’s the only thing he brought home.
One day as I was going through the Magazines that’s where I came across an article about Dr Kishimba Shimba a renown herbalist, who had helped someone with a problem similar to mine. His contact ( +254 714995588) was there so it was easy for me to get in touch. I reached out to him, shared my story and I was able to ascertain he will help me.
He performed a good spell and assured me that everything will change. A few weeks later, I left Nairobi for Eldoret where I had a relative who helped me open a small café business.
My business has booming. I opened two more branches after one and a half year and have provided employment to 20 people – some who are university graduates.
On the other hand, things were not going so well for Langat. He was now jobless and the ladies he was spending his money with abandoned him. He was forced to go back to the village to stay with his parents.
For the next months things were really going well, I managed to buy a piece of land and now I am slowly building my dream home after Dr Kishimba’s blessings. I am now looking into opening outlets in different parts of the country.
The Kishimba doctors have vast experience in herbs therefore they have established themselves as unbeatable stars in re-uniting divorced or separated lovers, which can influence promotions at work, manage cancer, cure high blood pressure, ulcers, asthma among others. Many can attest Kishimba has helped them.
