Edwin Chiloba Was A Pastor, Family Insists He Was Not Gay

Edwin Chiloba was serious a pastor and devout Christian, his family now says.

The relatives of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba have denied his membership in the Gay Society of Kenya.

“We are perturbed with what we are seeing on social media that our son was involved in ungodly practices. What we know is that he was a servant of God and even locals in our village knew him as a pastor,” a cousin named,Gaudencia Tanui says.

Ms Gaudencia, regarded Chiloba as a trailblazer since childhood. He stated that his demise has awakened the family to his challenges they were unaware of. She condemned users on social media for being inconsiderate to the family’s suffering while mourning their untimely demise.

“Edwin was an obedient son who grew up in church. If you want to know more about his spiritual life go to St Francis Kimuron in Elgeyo Marakwet County where he was a renowned pastor who ministered to many souls as the servant of God,” she says.

Gladys Kiptoo, the sister to Edwin Chiloba says, the fourth-year University of Eldoret Fashion and Design student, was a kind, loving, and law-abiding man.

“As a family, we are very saddened by the death of my brother. He was a law-abiding citizen and we will miss him. It is unfortunate that after his murder, we are hearing so many evil things being levelled against my brother on social media,” said Gladys.

Ms Kiptoo expressed regret that people on social media had damaged their brother’s reputation by linking him with multiple evils. She accused them of spreading lies and misinformation about their kin’s death.

The family is hoping that the (DCI) investigations and the post-mortem assessment will disclose what transpired to their relative. The autopsy will be done this week.
