Bernice Saroni, who is hosting Samidoh’s estranged wife Edday Nderitu in the US, has insisted that polygamy is not an option women should consider.
Saroni through a series of posts on TikTok narrated how she resisted polygamy when her ex-husband wanted to marry another woman.
“This is for ladies, young mothers like me. If a man leaves you, the father of your children, and he tells you you are not going to make it without him just because he wants you to be in a polygamous marriage, and you don’t want to be in a polygamous marriage. Do not allow anybody to force you into a polygamous marriage. Love yourself, choose yourself. Look that man in the eyes and tell him, ‘you’re not the giver of life’ and kneel down. Tell God this is the beginning of my singlehood journey’ God I want you to bless me. I want you to renew my strength every day, and guess what baby girl? God is going to bless you from heaven, and you’re going to be that girl,” she said.

In another post, Saroni said that her ex-husband packed his stuff and left their matrimonial home when she insisted that she would not be in a polygamous marriage.
“I Bernice Saroni, fight for a cheating husband? I cannot fight for spiritual ties. I can’t. Kwani wanaume ni 12 kama disciples? Kwanza wangu nilimpelekea nguo huko kwenye alikua anacheat na nikachange lock ya mlango. Mimi kwanza ule girlfriend anacheat na yeye naweza mpea pesa waendelee kukaa na yeye. In a separate story, Bernice called out cheaters, asking if they ever think of their partners when they cheat.
“I always ask myself, when you go cheat when you start a relationship, and you’re married, do you ever think about your partner? Do you ever think how you’re gonna end up hurting this other person? Or are you just selfish? I find it to be very inhuman because you already have someone in a relationship, or you are already married to someone else, and you go start another relationship.”

Edday moved to US with all her children in May 2023. The mother of three is being hosted by Bernice Saroni.
In July 2023, Edday wrote a lengthy post on social media saying that she had left Samidoh because she couldn’t stand being in a polygamous marriage.
“Lemmie clarify few things that were shared online and not accurate…… I am not in any polygamous marriage as stated I left the husband for whoever needed him more.
“I made a decision to remove myself and my kids from that toxic environment especially my teen daughter who unfortunately is direct recipient of unbelievable behavior displayed …
“I have managed to sustain my kids needs so far with no help and I am not regretting any bit of it. About communication and video calls I will leave that one there since some people seems to be present when that is happening but I’m not aware.”
