DJ Fatxo was inconsolable at Radio Jambo studio as Jeff Mwathi’s mom went on a tirade against him.
The embattled Mugithii musician, whose real name is Lawrence Njuguna, shed tears during an interview with Radio Jambo’s Massawe Japanni.
The Mugithi singer was joined by Jeff’s mother via a phone call during the ‘Ilikuwa aje interview’.
All hell broke loose as Jeff’s mother Anne Wacuka insisted that her son’s demise was orchestrated by Fatxo and claimed that the country’s legal system had protected him.
She repeatedly called DJ Fatxo a killer insisting that he murdered his son and got away with it.
“Wacha nkuambie, aliita mtoto wangu kwa nyumba na akamuita akaenda na yeye nko na video, nko na audio nko na kila kitu. Yani hii ni ushahidi inaonekana kabisaa kutoka mwanzo mbaka mwisho.
“Mtu akifanya makosa ahukumiwe. Hio ni vibaya sana, achukue mtoto wangu kutoka kwa nyumba akaenda na yeye. Mtoto wangu mimi nampigia simu namwambia enda nyumbani huyo akasema atampeleka nyumbani atamdrop so alikua amempagia. So hakuna kitu ntafanyima nikose kusema ni wewe. Ni muuaji na aliua mtoto wangu,” Jeff’s mother said.
DJ Fatxo couldn’t contain himself as Jeff’s mother repeatedly called him a killer on air.
When asked why he was shedding tears, Fatxo stated that it would be so hurting to anyone to be accused of anything which they did not do.
“I know the family deserve a right to know what happened to their son, but am I also not a Kenyan? Why would people think that I am not hurt when I am falsely accused.” Fatxo emotionally stated.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in April 2023 forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP)’s office for action the file on the investigations into Jeff Mwathi’s death.
According to the DCI report, Mwathi’s death still remains inconclusive with possible suicide suggested as the strongest explanation for how he met his death.
DPP acting on the DCI’s file failed to charge DJ Fatxo and ordered an inquest into Jeff’s death.
