Mama Dangote and her husband Uncle Shamte have unfollowed each other on social media.
The two have been dropping hints their marriage is on the rocks for quite some time now.
They stopped posting each other before they ultimately unfollowed each other on social media.
Some people were convinced the two had parted ways after Shamte snubbed Mama Dangote as she celebrated her 56th birthday on July 7, 2023.
Uncle Shamte avoided fans’ questions online after he failed to wish Mama Dangote a happy birthday.
Unlike before, this couple has stopped publishing their pictures together as before and Uncle Shamte has ignored fans’ questions about the status of their marriage.
When asked by journalists why he was recently blocked by Mama Diamond after five years of marriage, Shamte said;
“Hilo ni jambo la kawaida. Haya mambo yanatokea, yeye ni binadamu na mimi ni binadamu. Hatujakuwa tukipostiana kwa muda mrefu zaidi. Mitandao ya kijamii ni jambo lisilo na maana na sisi sote tuna biashara pamoja ambayo tunashughulikia.”
He added; “Nifuate tu kwenye mitandao ya kijamii, nitakuambia ukweli. Sisi ni watu wazima. Hatuna tofauti. Tofauti za nini?”
Mama Dangote and Uncle Shamte celebrated their fifth dating anniversary in October 2022.
Uncle Shamte shared a romantic message to his wife to celebrate the fives they’ve been together.
In the message, Uncle Shamte said the love he feels for Mama Dangote is the same as when they first met.
“Allhamdullillah… 1 Oct 2017 – 1 Oct 2022 Upendo upo pale pale haujahama wala kutikisika… Five years, 60 months, 260 weeks, or 1,825 days—however you count it, it all adds up to love. I love you my wife @mama_dangote,” Uncle Shamte wrote.
Mama Dangote and Shamte were criticized when they started dating because of the huge age difference.
A copy of their marriage certificate leaked in 2019 and it showed that Mama Dangote is 12 years older than her husband. At the time, Diamond’s mother was 50 while Shamte was 38.
The marriage certificate also showed that Mama Dangote and Uncle Shamte got married on October 1, 2017 at Kigombe, Tanga in Tanzania.
