Diamond Platnumz’s Manager Mkubwa Fella Set To Retire

Wasafi’s top boss and one of Diamond Platnumz’s managers Said Hassan Fella aka Mkubwa Fella has opened up about his retirement plans.

Fella, who is the general manager of Diamond, indicated that his retirement day is near while speaking during an interview with Bongo 5.

He noted that even though there is no retirement in music, he has already groomed people to fill his shoes.

He said that his fellow managers Babu Tale and Mordecai are ready to take his place when he retires.

“Sasa hivi nimeshatengeneza kina Tale (Babu Tale). Kwa vile nishawatengeneza wanaweza wakafanya kazi tayari. Huku Temeke nimemtengeneza Mordecai, naye anaweza akafanya kazi. Mimi naweza nikakaa pembeni,” Fella said.

The veteran manager made it clear that the day he will visit Mecca as advised in Islamic teachings, then it will be the end of his long career as a music manager.

“Sitafanya tena muziki. Mwisho wa siku twende tukafanye kazi lakini tusiwe watu wa kung’ang’ania kwenye kazi za shetani. Muziki ni kazi ya shetani. Sio kila siku shetani na Mungu hatumjui,” he said.

Fella was speaking after receiving the ZIKOMO award in Zambia.

It was his first award in many years of his management career and he said he was grateful for it.

“Siwezi kusema safari inaendelea. Mimi ninaweza kusema hii imenipa uimara kwamba nionekane nilichofanya ni kitu kizuri. Kuna msemo kama unafanya kazi na hakuna makelele basi humtumikii Mungu. Leo makelele yamekuja,” he said.

Despite being in the Bongo industry for a long time, Fella has never been recognized with an award in Tanzania.

He said the only award he ever received was given to him by his artist Chege for the good work he did.

“Msanii wangu kwa kumsimamia vizuri akaona anipe tuzo. Nina tuzo,” he said.
