“Nimejikubali, naishi tu maisha yangu, the way I want. If I die, I die!” Chokuu who identifies as a lady says.
In his latest conversation on TikTok with Nyako, Chokuu addressed persistent rumors surrounding his HIV status and shed light on various aspects of his life.
TikToker Nyako and gay activist Mpenzi Chokuu have been captivating audiences with their live videos. Their unique dynamic, having once been adversaries in a legal battle, has captured the curiosity of many.
One of the most striking moments of their live session was when Chokuu took the opportunity to challenge the stigma often associated with HIV/AIDS in the context of his sexual orientation.
He didn’t hold back words as he criticized those who had repeatedly warned him about the risks of contracting HIV because he is gay.
He made it abundantly clear that HIV is not exclusive to any sexual orientation, and anyone, regardless of their sexual preference, could contract the disease.
He went on to downplay the claims of being sick, emphasizing his focus on living in the present moment rather than worrying about the future.
He says, “At the moment, we are living for the moment. Ten years from now, we will deal with it then, even if it’s pampers we will wear. Maybe tutakuwa tusharetire. I have been in this game for over 20 years, and I am still here, standing strong.”
“Mimi nimejikubali, naishi tu maisha yangu the way I want it. If I die, I die. When I live, let me live. I was once saved, but I was chased away because of sleeping around. I was chased away because I slept with the church watchman,” he admitted.
Chokuu revealed a personal aspect of his identity, stating that he considers himself a lady and has never engaged in sexual relations with women.
