Catherine Kamau was among only 400 guests invited for the screening of season 2 of Netflix’s most successful series Bridgerton.
Bridgerton season one became most watched series on Netflix having accrued 625.49 million viewing hours in its opening month back in January 2021.
Season two of the Netflix hit series has already posted record-breaking viewership numbers in its first week of release.
As per the streamer’s weekly popularity data, the sophomore outing of the period drama amassed 193 million hours of viewing time worldwide between March 25 and March 27 – marking the best-ever opening weekend of any English-language Netflix series.
Bridgerton’s success explains why it was such an honor for Catherine Kamau to be invited for the screening of season two of the Netflix hit series which was released on March 25th.
The Kenyan actress was among 400 guests only who were invited for the screening of season two of Bridgerton in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Kamau stunned at the lavish event dubbed ‘The Bridgerton Affair’ which was hosted by former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi who was dressed as Queen Charlotte.
She was dressed in a red and white gown embellished with white pearls and a feather crown designed by fashion house House of Ruma.
Catherine Kamau was received with jubilations at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday night upon return to Kenya.
The actress spoke of her rise to international stage while addressing the press after touching down in Nairobi.
“I need to stop playing small, I deserve these things. I’ve worked for them, I’ve worked for the recognition,” said Catherine Kamau.
She added that her experience at the ‘The Bridgerton Affair’ was not only humbling but mind-blowing and life-changing as well.
“Expect more collaborations, more films and TV series of course with Netflix,” she said.
