Career Paths Where AI Can’t Replace Human Beings

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology that allows computers and machines to perform tasks that  are associated with human intelligence.

These tasks include reasoning, creativity, problem solving, perception and decision making.

Since 2023, many employers began embracing AI, not only to help them perform tasks faster and improve productivity, but also to lessen the wage burden. The 2023 AI empowerment report projected that AI would seize more jobs from human in 2024 and 2025.

As much as AI seems a threat to human resource, experts argue that it may not entirely replace humans but rather complement them. There are several career paths that are likely to remain resilient in the age of Artificial Intelligence. They include;

Traditional Manual roles

AI can not perform roles such as architecture, plumbing, decorating, electrical maintenance and repair  because such roles rely fully on physical labour. According to Price Water Cooper(PWC) Chief Economist Barret Kupelian, current AI technologies are not advanced enough to replace jobs that require intensive manual work.

Creative and judgment-based occupations

Occupations such as art, writing, designing and strategising are not likely to be subjected to automation because they rely on high levels of creativity and judgment that AI struggles to imitate.

Medical and health services

A study by Eskimoz indicate that jobs in the field are 93% resistant to AI. Even though AI can be helpful when it comes to diagnostics and treatment recommendations, it requires a lot of human interaction.

Training and development specialists

The career require 57.8% of human interaction with only a 29% of automation according to the research.

AI-aligned roles

Although AI is displacing humans in some roles, it is also creating job opportunities that can’t be automated. These includes; AI development, data science, machine learning and ethical AI oversight. PWC’s findings show that professionals who understand and work with this technology are on high demand.
