Babu Owino has used all hard drugs in his life, even as a MP he smoked bhang. However he changed his habit after something happened.
The Embakasi East MP first opened up about using hard drugs while speaking during an interview with Robert Alai on the ‘Audit’ show last in June 2021.
“In my life, there is nothing I haven’t consumed, I have consumed soft drugs, moderate drugs, and the hardest of the drugs,” Babu said.
He added that;
“Bhang is a hard drug coz it can bring insanity when done in excess. I have also done cocaine, I have done heroin. I have done a lot of drugs, every brand of alcohol.
“But at least that was in my last life, this is my new life. And I do accept that when you are on those drugs, a lot can happen, you can make some decisions that are impaired. There is nothing that these drugs add to the body; instead, they can destroy all body organs.”
The Embakasi East MP also noted that he stopped taking alcohol because it impaired his judgment and made him make wrong decisions.
“I have been taking alcohol. It’s only that now I don’t consume it because it made me have a lot of energy and I used it in the wrong way.”
Fast forward to May 2022, Babu Owino revealed that his wife’s prayers helped him stop taking alcohol and smoking bhang.
The Embakasi East MP made the revelation while asking Rachel Ruto to pray for her husband’s dark soul to be clean after she claimed to have turned dirty borehole water clean with just salt and a prayer.
“My wife prayed until I stopped drinking and smoking bangi,” Babu Owino responded to a critic who reacted to his post on Rachel Ruto.
