Following Aurelia Cheruto’s urgent request for assistance in leaving Saudi Arabia and returning home, the circumstances have changed and a way forward found.
Cheruto asserted that her health had declined because she hadn’t eaten since January 4, 2023.
Her attempts to contact her agency were unsuccessful since she was not answering.
Cheruto begged Kenyans for assistance since her boss had threatened to shoot her.
Elgeiyo Marakwet governor Wisley Rotich revealed in a statement on Saturday that the efforts of Labor CS Florence Bore and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen contributed to her rescue.
“That Aurelia Cheruto was finally rescued in Saudi Arabia is something I’d like to confirm. Bore and Murkomen acted quickly to address this as soon as we brought it to their attention, ” he added further.
The county’s governor invited teenagers interested in traveling to Saudi Arabia for chances and school to contact the PEPEA office in Elgeiyo Marakwet for advice on suitable locations.
