Another Broke Nairobi Diaries Actress In Court For Failing To Pay Hotel Bill

Nairobi Diaries actresses are dead broke, nowadays they are just eating in hotels and failing to pay bills.

Dianah Clara Ojenge who acted in the socialites’ show was on June 3, 2022, charged at Kibera Law courts with obtaining Ksh152,550 credit by false pretenses.

The broke actress is accused of incurring the bill at Golden Ice Bistro at Next Gen Mall in South C along Mombasa road in Nairobi on May 26 and the morning of May 27 with intent to defraud.

The plaintiff told the court that Dianah ate two chicken breasts valued at Ksh3,000, one cocktail valued at Ksh2000, two bottles of 300ml coke valued at Ksh500, a one litre bottle of Keringet water valued at Ksh400 and three bottles of Red Bull valued at Ksh1,650.

She also allegedly ordered six bottles of Bellaire Luxe 750ml valued at Ksh75,000 and seven Hennessey VS 750ml valued at Sh70,000 which she took with a group of friends she was partying with.

The court heart that the former Nairobi Diaries actress falsely pretended that she would pay the bill while she was in no position to settle it.

The broke actress claimed that her ATM had problems and that she was not able to pay after being confronted by hotel management.

Officials from Golden Ice Bistro accompanied Dianah to her house to collect some money on her request. However the trip turned out to be a wild goose chase.

The actress requested the hotel to give her time until May 30th to pay the bill but when the grace period elapsed she stopped picking calls from the hotel management.

Golden Ice Bistro reported Dianah at Akila police station. Police traced, arrested and presented her in court where she was charged with obtaining credit by false pretenses.

The former Nairobi Diaries actress denied the charges before principal magistrate Monicah Maroro and pleaded for lenient bail and bond terms.

She was released on a cash bail of Ksh50,000 and an alternative bond of Ksh100,000 with a surety of a like sum. The case will be mentioned on June 16, 2022.

Dianah is the second Nairobi Diaries actress to default on a hotel bill. In 2020 Pendo was arrested after she failed to pay Ksh208,000 to the English Point Marina in Mombasa.

In their presentation in court, the plaintiff said that Pendo arrived at the high-end facility on September 12th 2020, and was scheduled to stay until September 14th.

The former Nairobi Diaries actress gave the hotel a Ksh139,350 cheque from Absa bank which bounced. The socialite opted to extend her stay at the hotel for 10 days as she waited for her sponsor to sort out the issue because he was reportedly outside the country.

However, Pendo was ultimately arrested as the sponsor failed to show up. She was subsequently freed on bail but has been skipping court sessions.
