Award-winning media personality Anita Nderu has revealed that she did not love her daughter immediately after her birth.
According to her, all she felt was shock and fear which made her think that something was wrong with her.
The love for her daughter only developed two weeks later.
“I’ll be honest I didn’t experience the love at first sight everyone speaks of, mine was more like shock and fear and the will to learn. I thought something was wrong with me cause I didn’t experience that overwhelming love spoken of immediately. It came though about 2 weeks later when I was looking at her in her bassinet and I felt like my heart would explode with love,” she shared on Instagram.
Nderu and her husband Barrett Raftery welcomed their bundle of Joy in August 2022 and named her Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery.
Catalina will be turning five months on Thursday and Nderu has been sharing her motherhood experiences and the joy of having Catalina by her side.
“It’s been such a fun couple of months, everyday class is in session with Nippie Suckle. She smiles so much, her farts smell horrible but I love them, they hit you in waves like perfume, I love breastfeeding her even though my milk is no longer there,” the mother of one said.
