In the ongoing legal dispute, Amina Khalef filed for divorce and was demanding a monthly upkeep of Ksh 200,000 for herself and their children.
Court documents reveal that Amina’s decision to sue Alikiba stems from her dissatisfaction with the unsafe environment at their home in Dar-es-Salaam.
Having married Kiba in April 2018, Amina accuses him of infidelity and claims to have endured verbal abuse from her in-laws, which began approximately six months into their marriage.
According to her suit papers, “The respondent [Kiba] has disrespected their marriage by engaging in public displays of infidelity with various women, completely disregarding the petitioner’s feelings.”
Amina stated that her attempts to resolve their marital issues have been unsuccessful due to her husband’s unresponsiveness, leading her to believe that the marriage is beyond repair.
She further demanded a monthly upkeep of Ksh 200,000 for herself and their children, as well as medical coverage.
Ali Kiba previously acknowledged the problems in their marriage.
In a 2019 interview with Clouds FM, he admitted, “It’s true that my wife and I have conflicts, which is normal in a marriage, but I haven’t divorced her.”
He also expressed his disapproval of people rejoicing in the troubles of others, suggesting that those who try to encourage separation in marriages are influenced by negative forces.
“No one should take pleasure in marital problems. Divorce is something that Allah dislikes. Where do humans find the audacity to incite others to end their marriages? Only Satan delights in such foolishness,” said Alikiba.
Amina is tired of being treated like trash from Kongowea Market, as Alikiba hides behind religion and his brand protection.
Via Instagram, she is demanding the “Mahaba” and “Utu” hit star to sign their divorce papers without delay.
