Amina Khalef will not get the smooth divorce she wished for as her estranged husband Alikiba has contested terms of their marriage annulment.
When Amina filed for divorce from Alikiba, she sought court orders to compel the Tanzanian singer to pay her lots of money for child upkeep.
The Kenyan filed for divorce from Alikiba at the Mombasa Kadhis’ Court. The two got married under Islamic Law on April 19th, 2018 in a glamorous Muslim wedding held in Mombasa, and later proceeded to have a white wedding in Dar-es-Salam, Tanzania.
In her affidavit, Amina petitioned the court to compel Alikiba to pay her a monthly stipend for their two children.
Amina demanded a whopping Ksh200,000 monthly for the upkeep of their two children. She also wants Alikiba to pay for a medical cover for his children.
Mombasa Kadhi’s court on February 10th 2022 gave Alikiba 15 days to reply after his estranged wife filed for divorce.
The Tanzanian singer replied to the Mombasa Kadhi’s court within the 15 day period, he however contested the Ksh200,000 upkeep that Amina is demanding.
Alikiba’s move is set to make the divorce proceedings drag in court as the two parties have to reach a compromise before their marriage can be annulled.
