Kenyan singer and Entrepreneur Akothee decided to dive down into the memory lane, bringing up one of her photos from 2014.
In the photo she shared, she posed besides a luxurious car. She revealed that the photo was taken while she was in Switzerland and the car was one of her birthday gifts.
“Where were you in 2014? Baby was already pulling big machines in the middle of Switzerland Der Schweitzer. I will one day tell you why I was looking like I want all the money. Swimming in money but empty as f***,” she said.
The mother of five added that, “I respect everyone’s hustle. I had to make some tough decisions to save myself. Freedom kitu muhimu sana. Control. Access. Ownership. This machine was one of my birthday gifts.”
Judging from the photo and her present life, a Facebook user claimed that Akothee was still the same, despite making a lot of money, in terms of looks.
“Madam boss I am not a hater but pesa haikung’arishi kama wenzako #ZariTheBossLady,” George Kirwa said.
Responding to the comment, Akothee posed, “Define kung’ara.”
Another netizen also defended Akothee saying that she is the way she is because she decided to remain natural and not go for cosmetic surgeries like the South Africa-based Ugandan socialite.
“It is because she has decided to be natural. Imagine Zari has undergone so many plastic surgeries to be who she is today but Akothee ako tu natural,” Lilian Makokha said.
Akothee will however be hosting a charity golf tournament on April 27 at the Nyali Golf Club in Mombasa.
Activities that will go on at the event include 18-hole golf tournament, Dinner fund drive, networking as well as awards and prize-giving.
Notable persons who will be participating include Ugandan Comedian Patrick Salvado who will emcee the event, Nadia Mukami, Bahati and his wife, Willis Raburu, Churchill, The Wajesus family, Terence creative and his wife, Jackie Matubia, Comedian YY, Sandra Dacha and Radio presenter Mwende Macharia.
Also present will be Akothee’s family including her daughters and partner Nelly Oaks.
