Akothee opened up about her troubled childhood that saw her get married as an underage after dropping out of school disappointing her parents.
The controversial singer got married to her first husband Jared Okello at the age of 13 when she was still a student in high school in Homa Bay County.
She got her first baby at the age of 14, and by 16 she had already delivered four kids. (One died shortly after delivery).
The mother of five opened up about how she frustrated her mother with cases of indiscipline during her childhood.
“If there is a woman who is proud of me is my mother. After all the disappointments and shame I gave her amongst her agemates. While all her agemates had disciplined, educated, married girls. Hers was divorced, hawking soaps. Hopeless, jobless useless with no future and handful of children.
“I have caused this woman soo much shame and pain. My mum has not been herself since I fell sick. My mum had to learn how to use WhatsApp video call just to see me. The day she called and found me without the neck support changed her life! Told me the next day, she had a deep sleep for the first time since October,” she wrote.
