Aki Mapenzi! Betty Kyallo Sues Blogger Edgar Obare Over What He Said About Her 26-Year-Old Lover Charlie

Betty Kyallo has embarked on a legal battle against blogger Edgar Obare, seeking to protect her reputation from ongoing defamatory claims.

The media personality has decided to take a stand against the unfounded allegations damaging her brand.

In a candid social media post, Betty conveyed her exasperation over the persistent defamatory remarks.

“I have decided to take legal action against people who defame me and my brand without any factual information. There have to be consequences for such malicious actions. I will no longer tolerate such spiteful, evil-intentioned, fake, and false stories against me,” she declared resolutely.

Betty made public a demand letter addressed to Obare, outlining the grievances stemming from a post he made on July 7, 2024.

The post accused Betty and her boyfriend, Charlie, of fleeing a hotel without settling their bill.

Obare’s post, which read, “Betty Kyallo and her Ben 10 Charlie Jones allegedly ran away with another bill at Silverstone Hotel. We give you all the receipts on #bnnpremium at the Link on Bio,” was disseminated to his 182,000 followers and quickly gained traction online.

The demand letter from Betty’s legal team stressed the groundlessness of the allegations.

“The post and comment contain various allegations, insinuations, and innuendos about our clients, which are entirely false and have no basis or foundation whatsoever,” the letter asserted.

To address these defamatory claims, Betty’s legal counsel set forth several demands in the letter including retraction of the post and an apology from Obare.

The lawyers also demand a full and unconditional written admission of liability for defamation, paving the way for discussions on damages payable to Betty and Charlie.

Further, the demand letter instructs Obare to write a confirmation and commitment not to post any further defamatory comments or articles about Betty and Charlie.

The letter concluded with a stern warning; “Should there be no positive response by the close of business on Friday, July 12, 2024, Betty’s legal team would initiate appropriate legal proceedings.”

Betty Kyallo’s decision to seek legal redress underscores the increasing concern among public figures regarding the repercussions of misinformation and defamation in the digital era.

Her assertive action underscores the necessity of accountability and the importance of safeguarding individual reputations against baseless accusations.
