Comedian YY and his wife Marya Okothhave split up.
The news was shared online by Marya, who did not share the exact cause of their separation. The mother of one however said that they broke up due to unavoidable circumstance.
She went on to urge friends and fans to grant them privacy as they accept their new reality.
Marya and YY have a daughter together.
“Hello and good morning. We are saddened to let you know that Marya and YY Comedian will no longer be together due to unavoidable circumstances. Thank you for the love and support through our union. We expect individual privacy from each one of you,” Marya announced.
During an interview with Mungai Eve a while back, Marya revealed that she met YY when she was in her fourth year of study at Kenyatta University, where she was pursuing interior design.
“When I met him, I shared to him that I am an interior designer, being the supportive man that he is always , after I gave birth, I graduated , when I went back home he said we do something about your career,” she shared.
At the time, to market her, YY made her design and renovate the interior of their home.
“He said let’s use this house because you can’t just come from campus and tell people that you can transform their homes,” she said, adding that the move marked the beginning of her work portfolio
