Nairobi prides itself on a lot of things ranging from the skyscrapers mushrooming everywhere to the beautiful scenarios around it.
Despite being recognized as a regional hub of investment, the Kenya capital has some shortcomings which include insecurity.
Insecurity within Nairobi is some dire that sometimes getting to your house at seven in the evening is a serious risk to your life. The level of insecurity in the city, however, varies from place to place.
There are some places in Nairobi considered to be more insecure than the others. Some of those dangerous places include;
Lunga Lunga
If you are a young lady, you should avoid walking in the dark in this area. Lunga Lunga is notorious for rape incidences. Minors are occasionally defiled in this area leading to unwanted pregnancies.
Other than rape cases, the area is also known for car hijacking.
Kawangware (Congo)
Its name alone should give you an idea of what the area is all about. Just like its namesie, Congo, Kawangware area is prone to wars between two main gangs operating in the area. You would not wish to find yourself in the middle of the fights between the rival groups because you are likely to be injured or killed.
Eastleigh
This is another area you will constantly be worried about when you will start running for your life. Eastleigh has been identified by the Kenyan government as a hotspot of terror attacks.
The area is prone to terror attacks due to the high number of foreign nationals leaving there illegally. The foreigners mainly pose as the residents of the area but in a real sense, they are always planning a terror attack.
Githurai 45
The insecurity situation in Githurai 45 is so dire that when a famous cop Titus Katitu who used to kill thugs in the area was prosecuted for murder, residents when on a rampage for days. The locals wanted him to be set free to continue killing the thugs.
The thugs in the area seem to be so strong that even the police cannot cope up with them. Therefore, you want to find yourself in this area alone at night.
Jericho
Jericho experiences a high level of unemployment, a problem that has pushed the youths to criminal activities. In the area, you will find some of the country’s most hardened criminals.
