Eric Omondi’s journey to Tanzania on Friday morning was thwarted by immigration officers at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Eric who was leaving the country for work purposes was blocked following a stop order that had been issued against him. He was then detained but it is not clear why the action was taken.
“I have been arrested at JKIA Just before I boarded a flight to Dar Es Salaam. As a Brand Ambassador to Skyward we were Launching the INAUGURAL Dar Es Salaam flight. Upon handing over my Passport The Immigration officers informed me that there is a Stop Order and that I cannot travel and I have to be detained,” he said.
The move has however been criticized by Eric Omondi’s fans. Here are some of their reactions.

Eric has been among the key opposers of the current regime, organizing several solo protests.
