Otile Brown, whose real name is Jacob Obunga, has revealed the emotional turmoil that keeps him away from his childhood home in Kisumu.
The ‘Dusuma’ singer recently shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, admitting that although he longs to return to the village, it’s a place that now holds too much sadness.
“Sometimes I miss home, I wanna go so bad, but it’s just too dark 🥹,” he shared, adding weight to his words by displaying a diamond pendant in honor of his late grandmother, Elizabeth Anyango, who was his rock during his teenage years.
After losing both parents at age 14, Otile’s grandmother raised him, creating a bond he cherishes to this day.
Otile’s father, whom he never had a chance to meet, had separated from his mother and lived in Kisumu, where Otile now finds painful memories waiting.

According to reports, his grandmother’s passing left a significant void, and his emotional Instagram tribute, “Elizabeth Anyango 🤲🏾 Rest Well,” echoes his enduring grief.
