Andrew Kibe To Sue YouTube Over Wrongful Termination Of His Channel

Vlogger and former Kiss FM radio host Andrew Kibe has announced plans to sue YouTube following the termination of his popular channel, which had amassed over 500,000 subscribers.

Kibe claims the termination, which occurred in November 2023, was wrongful and has significantly impacted his livelihood.

In a public statement, Kibe expressed frustration over the loss of access to his extensive content library, which included over 3,000 uploaded videos.

He also called out for legal assistance, stating that he is seeking a lawyer to help him pursue legal action against the platform.

“I am looking for a lawyer with big balls we sue @YouTube for wrongful termination of my channel and losing access to over 3000 of my videos. After watching the proceedings nonstop, I have learnt the lingo to argue my case in court,” Kibe wrote in a social media post.

Kibe’s channel, which had over 159 million total views, was terminated for allegedly violating YouTube’s community guidelines.

However, Kibe insists that he did not break any rules, suggesting that the platform might have acted against him due to his rising influence and progress in the content creation space.

In response to the channel’s termination, Kibe launched his own platform, Yafreeka, which he claims allows creators to share content without facing the restrictions imposed by other platforms like YouTube.

However, Yafreeka has yet to gain significant traction, as many Africans remain unfamiliar with how the platform operates.

Despite the setback, Kibe remains determined to regain his YouTube channel or seek justice through legal avenues.

His fight against the platform has sparked conversations about content creators’ rights and the policies that govern online platforms like YouTube.
