Former Sauti Sol’s lead singer Bien Baraza has confirmed that he is legally married to choreographer and his manager Chiki Kuruka.
In an interview, Bien opened up on his low key wedding with Chiki that happened in 2020.
According to him, they formalized their union at the Attorney General’s office and held a small event to celebrate their union.
He told MC Jessy that the whole event cost not more than Kshs300,000.
“I am married. I did a wedding in 2020. We only had 50 people only, no phones. We went to the Attorney General in the morning and went and had lunch. It didn’t cost a lot of money,” he revealed.
“The wedding was on a Friday and we sent invites on Wednesday so that you don’t buy me gifts. I didn’t want gifts/ I didn’t want people to bring me plates and spoons I don’t like that, ” he further said adding that the guests were served a 5-course meal and they didn’t pay for anything.
The decision to conduct a low budget event despite their celebrity status was reached after a detailed discussion with his wife.
“Me and my girl considered what are we spending money on a better future together. We didn’t see the need to spend 50 million or 5 million on this one day, 7 hours to make people happy. My criteria to invite people to my wedding was this, if you have ever come to my house for dinner welcome to my wedding,” he said.
