Government critic Morara Kebaso is yet again the guest of the state after being by apprehended by DCI officers and bundled in a Subaru.
Morara was arrested at around 11.15 am on Tuesday and according to his lawyer Pareno Solonka, the Subaru proceeded to Lang’ata police station.
The activist also shared on X that his latest arrest has been linked to chaos that were witnessed at the Bomas of Kenya last Friday.
“I have been arrested over what happened at Bomas. Can you imagine? CAN YOU IMAGINE. Does it even make sense jamani. What is this now. Ni nini hii? Ah,” he wrote.
Just moments before publishing the arrest post, Kebaso had urged Kenyans not to abandon him at the time of need.
“Please don’t abandon me at my hour of need,” he said, leaving his followers confused.
On Friday, Morara proceeded to Bomas of Kenya for the public participation on the impeachment of DP Rigahti Gachagua. He was however received with hostility and soon after chairs were thrown at him, leaving him with head and neck injuries.
In an inteRview on Monday, Morara said that his attackers had been identified as goons who were working for MPs T.J Kajwang, George Aladwa and Beatrice Elachi.
Later he revealed that NIS planted a mole in his team, adding that he is lucky to be alive as he was nearly poisoned.
“When DCI came to this office for my arrest, they didn’t guess. This compound is so big with so many offices but they didn’t look for my office. This person is a very close person in my team, na kama naenda Bomas, he should have been there. Why was he missing and his residence is close to Bomas. Why did he go to the office and yet I was not there,” he wondered.
“There has been an attempt to poison my food and am thankful to God that it didn’t happen,” he added.
