In a heartwarming display of generosity and support, Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has pledged to assist struggling Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy by providing him with a new home.
Recognizing the financial hardships faced by Stevo and his inability to sustain himself through his music, MP Peter Salasya reached out to the artist to extend a helping hand.
The news of Stevo Simple Boy’s financial struggles spread quickly, prompting MP Peter Salasya to meet with him personally. Having experienced the challenges of starting from scratch firsthand, the MP empathized with Stevo’s situation and resolved to help him find a new place to live.
During their meeting, MP Peter Salasya advised Stevo Simple Boy to begin searching for a house of his choice, with the promise of the MP’s assistance starting the next day. Not only will the MP aid in the logistics of the move, but he also pledged to cover the rent for the initial three months.
Peter Salasya also assured Stevo that he would furnish the new house, ensuring it becomes a warm and comfortable home.
“On Monday, you will have a new home. I will help you move and pay for the first three months to help you stabilize. I will also get you new furniture for the new house,” the MP says.
MP Peter Salasya went a step further by promising to construct a house for Stevo Simple Boy in his hometown of Oyugis if other individuals who had previously made similar promises failed to fulfill them within 15 days.
Peter Salasya recognized Stevo Simple Boy’s talent as an artist, acknowledging the challenges and exploitation he had endured at the hands of those around him.
Encouraging Stevo to seek independence and self-sufficiency, the MP advised him to actively pursue his own shows and opportunities without relying solely on others.
Additionally, Peter Salasya took a moment to call out bloggers and content creators who had shamelessly exploited Stevo for their own gain, urging them to extend a helping hand rather than simply using him for clout.
