Sharon Mundia, a celebrated fashion and lifestyle blogger is recognized for her blog “This Is Ess”, was previously married to Lonina Leteipan.
The businessman proposed to her romantically during a helicopter ride to Mt. Kenya near a lake in 2015. They exchanged vows in a wedding ceremony in 2016 and were blessed with a daughter before their separation in 2017.
The unexpected divorce came as a shock to many of Sharon Mundia’s followers, evoking mixed reactions as it marked a significant turning point for the blogger.
Reports from various sources then suggested that her divorce was linked to allegations of lesbianism, prompting one of her fans to inquire whether she had ever been in a romantic relationship with a woman.
In response a while back, Mundia stated that she did not envision herself dating another woman, but expressed hope for the legalization of same-sex marriage in Kenya.
“I have never been in a relationship with a woman. If I think of my significant other I visualize what the future looks like it’s a man next to me but I do wish we could legalize it here in Kenya. I wish people could be with and marry whoever they want to marry,” she said.
During a recent Q&A session on her YouTube channel, Sharon Mundia clarified to her fans that her relationship with Kihoro is strictly platonic, dispelling any speculation of a romantic involvement between them.
“We are not in love with each other. We do not have a romantic relationship. If we were dating we would have broken up a long time ago.” Sharon Mundia insists.
In the session, both Sharon Mundia and Kihoro laid everything bare on their close friendship, highlighting how they have evolved into confidants who provide a safe space for each other to share details about their personal lives.
